be the project: reinventing architectural

lighting at fuorisalone 2026

the global design community will converge for milan design week 2026. Ideolux is proud to announce its official debut at milan design week fuorisalone 2026

this year’s theme, “be the project,” invites a rethinking of the relationship between people, objects, and the environments they inhabit

ideolux joins officina by oneworks, an open laboratory of ideas where architecture, product design, material exploration, and industry collaboration converge. The event takes place from 20–24 April 2026, 11 am – 7 pm, at Via A. Sciesa 3, Milan

officina is not a showcase. It is a system in motion. And we are here with sail. It isn’t just a product to be displayed; it is an experience to be felt

sail designed by oneworks:
designed by andrea sanguineti at oneworks in collaboration with bencore, kvadrat, and ideolux, sail begins with a simple yet radical question:

what if light wasn’t an object anymore?
what if it became part of the structure itself so that it doesn’t just illuminate a space, but helps define how you feel and experience it?

we call this exploration “sail”

the idea originates from transforming lightweight, porous materials such as treated paper, fiberglass, and translucent woven fabrics into true structural light diffusers. Unlike traditional lighting fixtures, these luminous elements are not standalone objects. Instead, they are integrated into a flexible and reconfigurable system where each component contributes to shaping the surrounding space

at ideolux, we’re drawn to ideas that are both thoughtful and environmentally conscious. This is what led us to sail. We developed six variations from the sail concept: sail midi fabric, sail mini fabric, sail line fabric, sail midi comb, sail mini comb, and sail line comb

sail is not a finished answer; it’s a system that keeps opening new questions:

what happens when light becomes structure?
when materials begin to behave like infrastructure?
when spaces adapt instead of remaining static?

we’ll leave that with you, for now
