when venice design week invited us to participate in their 2025 edition, themed tempora, we were immediately captivated. with our roots in Italy, the invitation felt personal. Of the three proposed installations, one vision stood out: wearemast team’s “the light of rising tides” — a luminous reflection of the ocean’s grace and a commentary on our relationship with water

“the light of rising tides” celebrates the ebb and flow of the ocean while encouraging reflection on the challenges water presents to our world. For ideolux, a team always exploring ways to play with light, this concept was irresistible — and the location, an outdoor space in front of riva ca’ di dio, surrounded by venice’s waters, was ideal

we immediately decided to contribute our lighting expertise. The ideolux lighting design team created a detailed presentation showing how the installation would look with light and which of our solutions, including the pro top line flexible led system, could bring the wearemast team’s vision to life

through collaboration with the wearemast team, we refined the lighting configuration. Fabrics from rubelli were tested in mock-ups to ensure that light would interact perfectly with the outdoor materials. Once the desired effect was achieved, the fabrics were finalized, balancing translucency and glow

the ideolux products team designed, configured and programmed the complete DMX control system. At the heart of the installation, the pro top line system flows seamlessly, tracing gentle, wave-like movements with smooth color transitions and warm ambient glows. Two variations were implemented: a dynamic RGBW version that captures shifting light on water and a warm white version integrated into seating areas to create an inviting atmosphere. Advanced sensors enable real-time response to visitor movement and natural light changes, delivering an immersive, ever-evolving experience

collaboration extended beyond lighting. Working with engineers at ceresio, we integrated CAD and 3d files to determine installation points and ensure the concept was realized accurately in the venetian space
