africa hall in addis ababa, home to the united nations economic commission for africa, is one of africa’s most iconic landmarks. Its restoration was a significant undertaking, aiming to preserve the building’s historic character while preparing it for modern use as a conference and cultural venue
ideolux was proud to contribute high-performance lighting solutions that complemented this collective vision. The challenge was to integrate modern technology without altering the building’s historic essence. Working closely with the project team, we ensured that every fixture and lighting design choice enhanced both the aesthetics and the usability of this prestigious venue
today, africa hall shines as a space where history and modernity coexist seamlessly. The project’s success was recognized internationally, earning the international architecture award 2025 in the restoration/renovation category. Being part of africa hall’s transformation inspires us to continue creating designs that balance history, innovation, and functionality
