ideolux has been recognised at the architizer A+ product awards for the second consecutive year. In 2025, lux round spot was named a finalist. In 2026, mikado received the jury winner title in the flexible design category
inspired by the classic game mikado, fabrizio floreani designed a catenary lighting system. Ideolux developed the product as a creative toolkit for lighting designers
mikado was awarded in the flexible design category because it responds directly to the need for adaptable and easily deployable lighting systems. Its cable-suspended system eliminates the need for screws or heavy structural fixing. This reduces intervention on existing architectural elements and supports reversible installation. The system can be installed on walls, poles, or trees using dedicated accessories, increasing adaptability across diverse environments
mikado is made from recycled low-density polyethylene (rLDPE), which is lightweight, durable, and easy to transport and shape. It maintains colour stability over time without additional finishing and reducing maintenance needs
the luminaire’s modular forms are available in round, square, and rectangular, allowing designers to adapt compositions to different spatial contexts. Multiple colour options further extend its application across varied outdoor settings
together, these characteristics position mikado as a system designed around flexibility, minimal intervention, and contextual responsiveness, aligning with the criteria of the flexible design category
architizer provides a platform that recognises products making a real impact on the architecture industry through its A+ product awards. Each year, the winners are selected by a panel of industry specialists. We are proud that our mikado has been recognised by them
